PETRIKOV PRODUCTION UNIT

It is the youngest and fastest-growing Production Unit. The Petrikov Unit increases its production capacity and breaks ore production records. Two million tonnes of ore have already been extracted a year after the Unit start-up.

The Production Unit operates both for foreign markets and local consumers, such as agricultural enterprises of the country.

HISTORY

The Petrikov potash deposit is the most significant mineral resource base for maintaining and increasing the production capacity of Belaruskali and the Republic of Belarus. It was discovered during systematic prospecting works on potassium salts started in the western part of the Pripyat Trough in 1965.
1966-1967 - exploration works conducted on the territory of the Petrikov deposit resulted in the discovery of 8 potash layers of uniquely pure potassium salts with probable reserves of about 2200 million tons, embedded up to a depth of 1200 m.
27 August 2014 – start of construction of the Petrikov Production Unit.
7 September 2018 – the potash level was tapped and the first ore was mined.
May 2019 – the sinking of skip and service shafts was successfully completed ahead of schedule.
30 January 2020 – production of the first high-quality potassium chloride concentrate.
27 August 2021 – official launch of the Petrikov Production Unit.
