Chemical plant for complex and advanced processing of chlorine product
In February 2013 the company began the construction of the chemical plant for complex and advanced processing of chlorine mineral product. When developing the extraction of the mineral the company’s management pays attention to its high-level processing.
It will enable the company to extract not only potassium but chlorine as well which is a component of high demand in present chemical industry and produce competitive high value-added products for international markets.
The project involves the processing of potassium chloride to produce:
– potassium hydroxide (10 thous. tons, 100% KOH);
– hydrochloric acid solution (17.5 thous. tons, 35% solution);
– sodium hypochlorite (4.2 thous. tons).
The chemical plant is being built in the territory of the Production Unit 4. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2014 year.
The project provides possible increase of production capacity up to 50 thous. tons of KOH per year during the second construction stage.
